SOMETHING ABOUT US

Psychonomics is an applied behavioural science and research consultancy. We specialise in decision sciences that result in applied behavioural changes in the workplace.

We build proprietary assessment tools, team dynamics analytics, employee psychological well-being workshops, contemporary 360-degree feedback tools, and manage in-depth employee engagement processes (both quantitative, such as surveys; and qualitative, such as key informant interviews) for our clients. We manage all data-driven, research, and reporting engagements in-house. Additionally, we also make use of a global network of exceptional accredited executive coaches as behavioural change interventionists where needed. All of the partner coaches have been trained and accredited in the use of our products and assessments. Psychonomics was founded by Dr Sean Smith. Sean holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree in psychology. He followed with an honours degree in psychology and a master’s degree specialising in psychological research methods and methodologies. He then bridged his psychology and business backgrounds by endeavouring to pursue a postgraduate diploma in business administration, followed by a PhD in behavioural economics.

TEAM AND WORKPLACE DYNAMICS INVENTORY (TAWDI)

The TAWDI instrument is an assessment to help corporate teams work better together through a shared understanding of one another’s’ preferences and ideal working styles.

It is unique in that it operates at both the individual and team levels simultaneously. This is a brief ten-minute assessment that can elicit powerful interpersonal understandings to assist us in working more efficiently and more harmoniously together. Results are unpacked by talented executive coaches, psychometrists and/or industrial psychologists.

GLOBAL EXECUTIVE DYNAMICS INVENTORY (GEDI)

GEDI is a specialised and tailored instrument targeted at senior management, executives, boards of directors, and other top-level teams. It was developed as a joint venture between Psychonomics and PsyQuenza.

GEDI is an anonymous assessment that allows for transparency and authenticity towards understanding the true functionality of those top teams. Data is presented in such a way as to offer powerful insights into modes in which such teams can lead more effectively and operate optimally at the top of their organisations. Data and ensuing workshops are held under the tutelage of master coaches.

VECTOR 360 (V360)

Vector 360 is a new take on a 360-degree assessment approach in the workplace. Our methodology is tried and tested; however, our measures and outputs are new and impactful for today’s world.

V360 is a play on the word ‘vector’, borrowed from physics, where something has the properties of a particular magnitude and direction. We liken this to human potential where every worker holds a latent potential and impact and should be assisted in deriving their directions based on data and feedback. The driving notion is that you can flourish through heightening your own magnitude and honing your direction. Notably, this is not just a leadership 360 but one that is affordable and applicable to all levels of employees.

HUMANWORKSX (HWX)

HumanWorksX is a 3-day executive/senior level workshop, aimed at creating people-first organisations. It is based on scientific research conducted amongst HR leaders, executive coaches, psychologists and EAP providers to understand emerging and dominant perspectives around well-being in corporate organisations. Adopting this outlook will have positive effects on bottom line, outputs, retention, creativity, reputation, and innovation. The workshop is for HR leaders (CHRO/HR manager/senior business partner/learning & development manager etc.), as well as other members of leadership (COO, CFO, CMO, CIO, CEO etc.), to come together and co-create a boutique human-centric and well-being focused future for their firm.

While some focus on fixing workplace meetings or other disparate minutiae, we know that the only effective level of analysis and intervention is the psycho-social ‘fabric’ of strategic human touchpoints overall. The eight-pronged underlying theoretical framework allows for organisation-wide consultation on well-being, drawing value from an evidence-based approach that is grounded in science. The science behind the workshop was jointly conducted between Psychonomics and WORKLIFE DIGITAL (Netherlands). Delegates do not merely attend a three-day talk, but actively co-create a new, customised, and tangible human-centric strategy to take back to their specific organisations to enhance their interactions.
